Over the last three years, Major Food Group (MFG) has become a culinary giant in Miami with no signs of slowing down. And the latest addition to its impressive Miami repertoire, Chateau ZZ’s, has once again left us speechless. Nestled within an opulent European-style manor in Brickell that dates back to 1931, Chateau ZZ’s makes history as Major Food Group’s first-ever Mexican restaurant. This marks the eighth venture by MFG in Miami, following their successful forays into Italian, Japanese, French, and other cuisines — ultimately proving Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, and Rich Torrisi of Major Food Group can truly do it all.

Designed by MFG’s in-house team in collaboration with Ken Fulk, Inc., the first level of Chateau ZZ’s boasts a glamorous Mexican restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining spaces, a captivating solarium, a lively bar and lounge, and lush gardens. Chateau ZZ’s Mexican restaurant transports diners to a bygone era of American dining, reminiscent of Hollywood’s golden age. Here, tuxedo-clad service captains curate a dining experience that pays homage to iconic Mexican dishes with MFG’s signature flair. The second level of Chateau ZZ’s is exclusively reserved for members of ZZ’s Club, MFG’s private member’s club that debuted in 2021 in the Miami Design District.

Chateau ZZ’s occupies the former Petit Douy, a historically protected building dating back to 1931. Designed by architect Martin L. Hampton, the estate reflects the architectural marvels of its time and was once the cherished residence of historic Miami figures, John and Sheelah Murrel. “There’s no mansion in Miami that comes even close to matching the uniqueness of this property—an unbelievable destination that feels as if it was built for MFG and the creation of Chateau ZZ’s. The estate has never looked more glorious, and we’re about to open the exceptional Mexican restaurant that Miami has always needed but never had. The incredible new chapter starts now,” Zalaznick.

A new chapter, indeed. MFG’s first foray into Mexican cuisine, Chateau ZZ’s is undoubtedly a modern, fresh take on infusing Mexican cuisine into the MFG dining experience. The culinary journey begins with Guacamole, followed by a raw bar featuring Mexican-style seafood delights like Michelada Oysters and Colossal Stone Crab Claws. The menu also includes classics such as the Mexican Caesar Salad, Sweet Corn Elote, Albondigas Diavolo, and Gambas Al Ajillo. Signature housemade tostadas offer a range of delectable toppings, from Spicy Tuna to Wagyu & Truffle.

Main courses feature grilled steaks, a whole branzino, and Spicy Lobster Fideos, served with freshly steamed flour tortillas, salsas, and garnishes. Desserts include Coconut Tres Leches, Mango Cheesecake, and classic Churros, showcasing MFG’s talent for reimagining classics. Chateau ZZ’s boasts an unparalleled selection of over 1,000 tequilas and mezcals, including rare bottlings found nowhere else. The cocktail menu, curated by MFG’s Head of Bars Nathan McCarley-O’Neill, offers margaritas, mezcal, and tequila-based drinks, along with classic favorites and delightful Micheladas. The wine list emphasizes balanced, refreshing options that complement Mexican flavors, featuring renowned producers of Champagne, sparkling wine, Italian, Loire Valley, and Burgundy whites, as well as Bordeaux and Burgundy reds.
