The St. Regis Atlanta: A Buckhead Icon

When you step into the St. Regis Atlanta, there’s a sensation of stepping back in history — which is all down to its aesthetic, given that it’s only been opened since 2009. But there it is: it’s absolutely a timeless icon.

The 26-floor property features 151 guest rooms and suites, 53 St. Regis Residences, more than 24,000 square feet of meeting and event space, two exclusive bars, a plethora of dining options, a spa, a fitness facility that overlooks a 40,000-square-foot pool and bar, and Astor Court, the resort’s upper lobby restaurant in a beautiful, old-world style.

The rooms all have St. Regis Butlers, modern touches — there’s a place for each and every cord and plug, and the room is fully controlled by iPad — with calming decor in shades of sage with raspberry accents. Each room also has marble bathrooms, of which have giant soaking tubs.

The suite to beat is the Empire Suite, a 3,000 square-foot accommodation that pays homage to southern glamour with a full-service kitchen, grand entry foyer, a digitally enhanced master closet, spa-like marble bathroom complete with soaking tub, private gym (with a Peloton bike and Technogym equipment), and a media room with plush couches for private viewings. As added bonuses, guests of the Empire Suite will experience a range of St. Regis amenities like soeshining, garment pressing, and a nightly signature champagne sabrage ritual.

Now, I mentioned dining — and there is a lot that’s excellent here. Astor Court is a beautiful beginning to the day, with a series of Southern comfort selections as well as an elegant afternoon tea. There’s also Atlas Buckhead, which is chic and has almost a masculine, gentleman’s club feel with a great bar and a menu inspired by partnerships with local farms using the freshest and most seasonal produce, while the Garden Room is a gorgeous and whimsical spot full of greenery and carousel horses for brunch.

The St. Regis Bar is the ultimate power lunch/power cocktail spot, with a terrace, fireplace, and small bites available. Last but not least, there is the St. Regis Atlanta Pool Piazza, a heated pool of which spans 40,000-square-feet and features a dramatic water feature, with an accompanying bar for lazy days in the sun.
