“The biggest threat to freedom is being silent.” Nasim Eshqi, Iranian Professional Rock Climber, Activist, and Pomellato for Women Ambassador.
While every day celebrates women, today is a day dedicated to further uplifting women around the world. For International Women’s Day, Pomellato has unveiled its 6th annual Pomellato for Women campaign, which advocates for women’s freedom. A platform launched in 2017 by the House’s CEO, Sabina Belli, Pomellato For Women aims to create a dialogue around positive female empowerment to ignite change.
This year’s campaign captures the strength, resilience, and beauty of women speaking on what freedom means to them with a star-studded cast, including trailblazers like Pomellato for Women Ambassador Jane Fonda, American actress Joey King, Italian volleyball champion and activist Paola Egonu, and Iranian rock climber Nasim Eshqi in a discussion with Belli about how freedom is under threat in today’s world. In fact, this is Fonda’s sixth year in a row being a part of this special campaign, paving the way for younger Hollywood voices like King.

For Belli, Pomellato for Women 2023 is another major milestone for women as she expresses the theme of freedom throughout the video: “Unfortunately, our freedoms as women and people continue to come under threat across the world – this year it has become especially evident. We are being suppressed, challenged, reduced, silenced, killed. Everyone is responsible to rise up and speak out against our loss of freedoms; I am proud to present the Pomellato for Women video alongside some of our most inspirational and powerful sisters, to speak our truth and to raise our voices to protect freedom.”
Pomellato has also announced another charity campaign in 2023 that benefits the survivors of domestic violence through the Kering Foundation’s partner FreeFrom.
