The list is out! At a ceremony in Singapore this week honoring the 50 best restaurants in the world, France’s Mirazur took home the top honor, with Danish hot spots Noma and Geranium, Spain’s Asador Etxebarri and Bangkok’s Gaggan rounding out the top five. Six US restaurants also made the list: Cosme and Le Bernardin in New York City; Benu and Atelier Crenn in San Francisco; Alinea in Chicago; and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, New York. A new rule that was introduced this year made previous top winners ineligible, including Thomas Keller’s lauded Napa eatery The French Laundry and New York’s Eleven Madison Park. Other awards doled out at the event included World’s Best Female Chef, which was taken home by Daniela Soto-Innes of Cosme and José Andrés with the Icon Award.
