Late last week, a chic crowd gathered at the Gagosian gallery in downtown San Francisco for the opening of its latest exhibit, Richard Prince’s High Times. Both the gallery owner, Larry Gagosian, and artist were at the event, which was a somewhat subdued viewing with no drinks or food. Still, the crowd was captivated by the art.

High Times, which debuted in New York last fall, is a series of brightly colored paintings and collages that depict stick figures and other human-like creatures. High Times, the cannabis publication contacted Prince, and two works from this series have appeared in the magazine. A third piece is expected to be on the cover of its August issue.

At the party, Prince not only introduced the crowd to his latest pieces of art but also his side project, a new marijuana brand called Katz + Dogg. Guests were invited to join Prince at Moe Greens, an upscale cannabis lounge near the gallery, to try the pre-rolled joints. There’s also a Katz + Dogg vape pen and of course, the packaging, which Prince designed himself.
