New York’s famed Japanese omakase and kaiseki restaurant from chefs Nick Kim and Jimmy Lau, Shuko, will be heading out East this summer with a special pop-up location, Shuko Beach, located at Highway Restaurant & Bar (2900 Montauk Highway).
The spot debuted in Manhattan from the duo in 2013 to high acclaim, presenting exquisite and authentic omakase and kaiseki dining in a hip and intimate setting. With a quaint sushi counter and lively hip-hop music playing in the background, the destination has become an attraction for food connoisseurs, tourists, locals and even celebrities. On a given night, one may be dining next to Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Lea Michele, Hilary Duff or Leonardo DiCaprio, who are all fans of the hot spot.

Diners can expect a mouth-watering 15-course omakase experience filled with decadent slices of fish, from Santa Barbara or Hokkaido Uni to fatty otoro, marbled, sawara (horse mackerel), shiro ebi (baby white shrimp) and local, fresh catches of the day. Utilizing the Edomae-style sushi-making technique, chef Jimmy Lau and his expert team prepare each piece of sushi delicately, with minimal rice that expertly balances out the fish and takes your palette on an indulgent, tongue-tantalizing adventure.
Hamptonites can rejoice as they can now experience Shuko’s signature omakase dinner, as well as an a la carte menu featuring tasty handrolls and caviar and milk bread service, at Shuko Beach all summer long. The pop-up will launch on June 7th and reside until Labor Day. Shuko Beach will be available on Fridays and Saturdays until June 27th, when it will launch Thursday evening service, at Highway Restaurant & Bar.
