Inside Ermenegildo Zegna’s Lavish Grand Opening For New Global Store In NYC

Italian luxury menswear brand Ermenegildo Zegna hosted a lavish grand opening for its newest global store in Manhattan, where it debuted the stunning new boutique designed by world-renowned architect Peter Marino. The brand’s revered Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori was present at the event, welcoming guests to the intimate evening which presented the best of Italian culture, fashion and hospitality.

Guests including Alec Baldwin, Peter Marino, Thom Browne, Stan Smith, Mario Carbone, Alexandra Richards, Tessa Hilton, Leigh Lezark, Young Paris, Eric Rutherford, Joe Holder, Marcel Floruss, Moti Ankari, Drew Jessup, Stephanie Nass, Igee Okafor as well as other New York notables, socialites and influencers all came out to celebrate the exciting affair.

Always combining the best of all things luxury, Zegna brought on world-renowned chef and longtime friend of the brand, Mario Carbone, to prepare a one-of-a-kind custom Italian menu inspired by Oasi Zegna, which served as the theme of the evening. Guests enjoyed the delicious cuisine from his beloved flagship, Carbone, as well as specialty cocktails also inspired by the monumental occasion.

DJ Leigh Lezark set the mood with a lively DJ set, stationed of the third floor of the gorgeous boutique, which kept guests entertained as they explored the store and shopped the latest collection including the special Taccuino Capsule Collection, which is only available exclusively in New York. The special collection draws inspiration from the original notebook that the iconic Ermenegildo Zegna carried with him on his founding trip to New York in 1938, highlighting caligraphy as the core motif of the capsule.

Much like the brand’s DNA, the boutique showcases inimitable craftsmanship, with an impressive façade composed of metallic strings, emblematic of Zegna’s detailed fabrics—which overlay two stories of glass, where onlookers can admire the impressive store. Designed to evoke the environment and mood of Oasi Zegna—a nature park located near Trivero, where Zegna was founded back in 1910—the store was transformed with interior design elements to transport guests to the historic setting. Key elements included a custom table installation and bonsais scattered throughout the space, which created a beautiful alpine feel.

The brand-new boutique is located in the heart of Manhattan in the historic Crown Building, at 4 West 57th Street, open to the public seven days a week.
