The annual Fall Fashion Gala was conceived by NYCB Board Vice Chairman Sarah Jessica Parker, and originally launched in 2012 with a gala celebration of the legendary designer Valentino. The gala has since raised more than $15 million for New York City Ballet, and has featured costumes designed by the likes of Virgil Abloh of Off-White, Rosie Assoulin, Thom Browne, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, Olivier Theyskens, Dries Van Noten, and more. All of the designs are created in house at the New York City Ballet Costume Shop in collaboration with the designers and NYCB’s Director of Costumes Marc Happel.
Gala chairs included NYCB Board Vice Chair Sarah Jessica Parker, Mazdack Rassi, Zanna Roberts Rassi, Kelly Ripa, and Lizzie Tisch.
The evening featured champagne by Ruinart, the official champagne of New York City Ballet, catering courtesy of Sonnier & Castle, wine courtesy of Wagner Vineyards Estate Winery, décor courtesy of Raúl Àvila, and music by Chelsea Leyland.
