Cheese lovers should get their tickets now for the 12th Annual Artisan Cheese Festival taking place in Santa Rosa, March 23-25.

Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center opens this weekend, on Friday March 2 at 6:30 p.m. What’s new this year? A VIP Tasting Ticket which allows holders access to a line-free window at a selection of food trucks who will be offering specialty bites curated by Off the Grid’s catering team. The rotating lineup of over 30 food trucks and vendors includes old favorites like A16, El Porteño, Rye on the Road, and up-and-comers that are a part of Instrucktional, Off the Grid’s two-year mobile incubator program. Friday night’s Instrucktional participant is Heff’s, an American food purveyor specializing in burgers.

Up in wine country, the Wine Road is hosting its 41st Annual Barrel Tasting, two weekends of barrel sampling the future wines of 100 wineries in Northern Sonoma County. March 2-4 and March 9-11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, oenophiles can taste wine that is still being made in the barrels. Guests can purchase futures, wines that they will get their hands on once it has finished maturing in the barrel, 12-18 months from now. Participating wineries include DeLoach Vineyards, Hanna Winery and Vineyards, Simi Winery, Rodney Strong Vineyards, and many more.

On Friday, March 9 here in San Francisco it is the 7th Annual Y for Youth Luncheon at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. This inspiring event raises funds for the YMCA’s youth programs which serve 10,000 Bay Area children. U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris will speak at the event alongside high school students who have benefited from the opportunities presented by the YMCA. The reception starts at 11 a.m. and the luncheon begins at noon.

The 12th Annual Artisan Cheese Festival will take place March 23-25 at its new location, the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. More than 2,500 cheese lovers will gather together for tastings, seminars, demonstrations, and farm and creamery tours. Cheese experts like Janet Fletcher and Juliana Uruburu will be on hand to lead educational talks about cheese. There is also a cheese and cocktail event and a bubbly brunch.
