With lobster guacamole, seven different types of tacos (think short rib, asada skirt steak and grilled salmon), sizzling fresh fajitas and more than 250 tequilas to choose from, it’s no wonder Temazcal Tequila Cantina has the secret to the fast track to success. The Mexican eatery and tequila bar, which has locations in Burlington, the Seaport District and Lynnfield, just added Dedham to its haute roster.

The recently opened fourth location at Legacy Place just might be our favorite. There are no signs of the former Wicked pizzeria remaining; the restaurant group renovated the space in its entirety. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant is the first location south of Boston and now features a four-sided walnut bar located at the front of the restaurant, reclaimed wood, wrought iron, brass, imported tiles and zebrawood (a species native to Central America) for the inlaid tabletops.

There is an outdoor fire pit and patio that we are all anxiously awaiting opening once the weather gets warm. Inside, the beautiful two-story space was bustling on a recent visit with people snacking on chips and a trio of salsas (spicy red, sweet green and bean and bacon) while sipping on some craft margaritas (our favorite is the spiced up En Fuego made with jalapeno infused tequila).

The made-from-scratch Mexican cuisine comes with a modern twist, so you won’t find a classic burrito here. Instead, think dishes like Salmon Puebla Style served with quinoa and kale; Temazcal Mixtas Grill, a hearty combination of chicken, shrimp, chorizo, tenderloin and sweet mashed potatoes; and Mole Enchiladas (roasted chicken, corn tortilla, queso fresco, toasted fresh coconut and Mexican rice).

Our server, Emily, recommended getting started with the short rib empanada and we were glad she did. Two golden pastries arrived filled with rich short rib meat combined with melted Chihuahua cheese served with a side of chipotle aioli. We also tried the chicken quesadillas – four cayenne flour tortilla triangles were overstuffed with grilled chicken and gooey cheese. From Avion Reposado to Corazon Anejo, be sure to take a look at their “tequila library” featuring more than 250 different selections to choose a sip or a straight up shot.

When it comes to main events, there are shrimp fajitas, mole enchiladas, grilled salmon tacos topped with jicama and pineapple; and short rib Chile Rellenos. Our two favorite entrees are the lime marinated grilled chicken tacos served with a side of Mexican rice and black beans; and the outstanding enormous, super tender, grilled skirt steak tampiquena cooked to our medium rare liking served with a cheese quesadilla along with rice and black beans.

We didn’t save room for dessert, which included a Mexican brownie, churros, flan and Mexican fried ice cream, but look forward to sampling next visit.
