G-Shock Hosts Fitness Event In Honor Of New Watch
Everyone’s favorite watch from fifth grade—the G-Shock—is making a comeback. Casio recently released its first ever digital step tracker watch. As part of its women’s S Series line, the new G-Shock watch comes in four colors (white, black, pink, and mint) and has a sleek and stylish face.
The watch originally came out in 1983 and is meant to withstand the seven elements with resistance to electric shock, gravity, low temperature, vibration, and water. Internal timekeeping modules are protected with urethane. The latest incarnation has high brightness double LED light, dual time, four daily alarms and snooze, a 1/100th second stopwatch, 30 lap memory, countdown timer, full auto calendar, and automatic step counter.
To celebrate the launch of the watch, G-Shock hosted a fitness event at Studiomix in San Francisco. Influencers were invited to a hip-hop cardio-dance class taught by Jessica Rae. Dancers were given a watch to track their steps throughout the class and most wearers clocked in at over 3000 steps. “I love the colors of the G-Shock S Series Step Tracker, it was hard to pick a favorite!” Rae told Haute Living. “We had a blast putting the watch to the test in class — nearly 4,000 steps in just one hour!” It was a fun and active way to experience the innovative time piece.
The G-Shock S Series is now available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
