4 Haute Happenings Not To Miss This January

Wondering what’s happening this month? Here are four events that should be on your radar.

This weekend it’s Winter Wineland in Sonoma County. Tomorrow and Sunday, more than 100 wineries on the wine road from Healdsburg to Sonoma will open up their tasting rooms and invite wine lovers to join them for a special tasting. The theme is Vintages, Varietals, and Verticals and wineries will pour older library wines, the same varietal, or offer a tasting of the same wine from several different vintages. Participating wineries are encouraged to decorate with winter-inspired decor. Where we’ll be tasting? Landmark Vineyards, Ridge Lytton Springs, Francis Ford Coppola Winery, and Chalk Hill Estate.

On Saturday, January 20, the Oxbow Public Market in Napa is turning 10 years old. To celebrate its birthday, there is an event from 2 to 5 p.m. at the market space. All of the merchants at Oxbow are getting in on the fun and there will be live music and plenty of food and drink specials. The event is the kick-off to a year full of surprises at the market.

Petit Marlowe, the newest restaurant from the Big Night Restaurant Group, is hosting a party with Unti Vineyards on Monday, January 22. From 5:30 p.m. onwards, diners will enjoy a five-course menu prepared by chef Jennifer Puccio. Mick Unti will be there pouring his namesake wine and making sure that all of Puccio’s food is paired to perfection. Reservations for the dinner are required.

International superstar and cabaret singing sensation Melissa Madden Gray, better known by her stage name Meow Meow, will be performing at Davies Symphony Hall on Saturday, January 27. She’ll be joined by Pink Martini founder and pianist Thomas M. Lauderdale in a rare duo performance. The pair will be accompanied by Yair Evnine on cello/guitar and Carmine Covelli on drums/percussion. It should be a thrilling show with an eclectic mix of dance, comedy, and electric music. Tickets for the evening at the San Francisco Symphony are now on sale.
