Avant Gallery Presents DAIN To Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary

Avant Gallery will present one of the most leading and influential graffiti artists, DAIN, as the gallery celebrates its 10 year anniversary during Art Basel in Miami. The graffiti artist has just completed a massive 25-by-25-foot mural commissioned by Avant Gallery in Wynwood. Dimitry Prut, gallery owner, is pleased to present one of the most successful and influential graffiti artists from New York City.

DAIN combines old photographs in black and white of glamorous women in Hollywood of the 1940s and 50s. He picks images that speak to him and trigger a feeling, and with his touch, he adds shapes and colors in graffiti to create a very distinct but appealing visual language. The artist doesn’t know any of the women in the photographs, but always picks a photograph where he finds the eyes to be striking and creates his signature mark, which is a red circle in either eye to make a dripping eye effect.

Located inside Epic Hotel, Avant Gallery is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and was the only gallery from Miami to show in the famous 2017 Scope Basel Art Fair in Art Basel Switzerland. The gallery will celebrate the anniversary with their in-house eatery, LaMuse Cafe, serving brunch, and will present at the SCOPE Miami Beach Art Fair with the presence of BOOTH G05 during Miami Art Basel.
