Inside Restoration Hardware West Palm Beach’s Lavish Opening Party
After months of tarp-teasing, RH, Restoration Hardware celebrated the opening of its multi-million dollar home furnishings emporium in West Palm Beach on Saturday, November 18 with a bombastic fête that benefited the Norton Museum of Art.

Hosted by RH’s chairman and CEO, Gary Friedman, and an impressive host committee featuring younger notables like Georgina Bloomberg, Matthew Chevallard, Katherine Lande, Ariana Rockefeller, and others, hundreds of well-heeled party-goers turned out despite the inclement weather.
Actor-director-producer Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves, golfer Greg Norman, and supermodel Karolina Kurkova were amongst the evening’s most photographed guests.

As party-goers arrived, they were greeted by a 14-foot water wall inspired by Manhattan’s Paley Park and a mural installation by Los Angeles graffiti artist, Marquis Lewis, also known as Retna, which covered the building’s eastern facade in his abstract, signature script (pictured below).
The lavish evening featured music by New York City DJ Chris Malinchak, a frosé garden, an iced martini and caviar bar, confection tables, and gourmet bites from RH Café, restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff’s garden-imbued eatery on the fourth floor.
A verdant, 10,000-square-foot garden setting encouraged quiet exploration while, inside, attendees test drove the posh furniture ensembles—designed by Backen, Gillam & Kroeger Architects‘ James Gillam in homage to the well-lived home—with food and wine in hand. RH’s omnipresent sales staff remained unfazed as most of RH’s fabrics are stain-resistant.

The evening ended on a sweet note: As fêters departed, they were gifted chilled bottled water and warm doughnuts from RH’s upstairs pantry and barista bar.
