Quick Hits: Not To Be Missed Fire Relief Fundraisers

Everyone knows someone who was impacted by the recent wildfires that devastated the North Bay. Luckily, the community we live in is eager to help those most affected by the damage get back on their feet. Wondering how you can give to the cause? Here are several upcoming events that are fundraisers for fire relief.

This Saturday, the businesses in downtown Napa are hosting a crawl from 4-8 p.m. Essentially, everyone—restaurants, bars, wine bars, brew pubs, retailers, barre/cycle studios, etc.—will be open and featuring something fun on-premise with a portion of proceeds benefitting the Napa Valley Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund. Compline is popping corks for the greater good and inviting guests to geek out with their new bubbly wall. At the Dailey Method, fitness fans can take a 30-minute barre class designed to kick-start your appetite and enjoy an icy cold Tannery Bend beer afterward. The owners of Trademark, the team who is responsible for developing Napa’s First Street, will donate a dollar-for-dollar match of everything raised during the DoNapa Downtown Crawl.

BottleRock and Family Coppola have joined forces with Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center to host a fundraising concert on Saturday, November 18. “For the Love of Sonoma” will feature the Counting Crows with special guest Brett Dennen. The concert takes place at 6 p.m. at Weill Hall (at the Univeristy’s music center) in Rohnert Park and all proceeds from the concert will benefit the North Bay Fire Relief Fund and Noma Gives. Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow and range from $50 to $250.

On the same day in Napa, BottleRock has tapped Michael Franti and Spearhead to perform at the “For the Love of Napa” benefit concert at the Robert Mondavi Winery. Tickets also go on sale tomorrow and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to wine country fire relief efforts.

In Petaluma, The Drawing Board is hosting a North Bay Bartender Competition with all of ticket sales going to the Sonoma County Resilience Fund. On Monday, November 13 from 7 to 9 p.m., guests will be able to try all of the cocktails (and select the People’s Choice award) which must incorporate Spirit Works Sloe Gin. Drawing Board’s kitchen will offer food for purchase to pair with the innovative beverages.

Man about town, Liam Mayclem, has founded ChefsGiving, a week long fundraiser that’s moving the Bay Area restaurant industry to take action. From November 13 to 19, restaurants will offer a special menu or host an event with the goal of committing $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000 to the cause. ChefsGiving hopes to raise $1 million and plans to donate half to the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund and the other half to Restaurants Care. On Sunday, November 19 ChefsGiving will host a gala at the Ferry Building. Practically every San Francisco restaurant—to name a few: Slanted Door, Tacolicious, Marlowe, One Market—is participating in some way or another, so get to your favorite eateries and support the relief efforts.
