Quick Hits: Lake Club Open at Ritz Tahoe, SF Art Book Fair This Weekend
The Lake Club at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe has officially opened! Resort guests have access to the luxe waterside venue and its host of amenities. The space was designed by Walton Architecture + Engineering with interior architecture and design by Walton AE and features an indoor gathering area, bar, ground-floor dining terrace, upper-level dining deck, and expansive lawn that extends to the water’s edge. There is a beach with a private boat pier—the embarkation point for recreational activities and water sports like kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. “We’re thrilled to introduce this new lakefront amenity to our resort guests,” said Marian Wilson, director of sales and marketing of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in a statement. “The Lake Club brings an exciting new element to our resort experience, with unprecedented access to the waterfront and the mountain, showcasing the beautiful marriage of the mountains and the lake.” The food and beverage offerings include a rotating many from the grill, seasonal salads, and refreshing cocktails.
The 2017 SF Art Book Fair starts today and runs through Sunday. The fair, which is free and open to the public, takes place at Minnesota Street Project. Over 100 independent publishers, dealers, artists, and collectors are coming together for the event that includes a diverse range of discussions, book launches, special projects, exhibitions, and signings. The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco has just announced a major Klimt exhibition. From October 14 to January 28, the Legion of Honor is presenting Klimt and Rodin: An Artistic Encounter. The show is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the deaths of the artists—Auguste Rodin died in November 1917 and Gustav Klimt in February 1918—and will feature many works by the Austrian master Klimt that have never before been seen in the United States.
Need something to do tomorrow night? The JCB Collection is hosting its inaugural summer white party at DeLoach Vineyards in Santa Rosa. The event has a Great Gatsby theme and starts promptly at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Guests are invited to wear white clothing and partake in croquet and lawn games or learn gardening tips and tricks from master gardener Joe Papendick.
