New Posh Spa at Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown
In April Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown opened a new wellness and spa center, one of the most luxe beauty destinations in the city. Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the international design team based in Toronto and in Soho, New York, the center offers a wide range of pampering spa services ranging from Eastern-style massages to sumptuous facials and body treatments and a cooly beautiful environment in which to enjoy them. There are seven treatment rooms including a couple’s spa suite, a eucalyptus steam room, an outdoor terrace, 75-foot indoor lap pool, and 24-hour fitness center. The Spa is open to hotel guests and day visitors.
“We have partnered with the best European brands to offer our guests the most exclusive and bespoke experiences,” says Tara Cruz, Spa Director. “Much like the colorful city we reside in, we unite influential cultures and remedies from around the world.” Two popular treatments at the spa include the Luxury Green Caviar facial (yes, made with green caviar—and gold!) from the Swiss-based brand Dr Burgener, which is often requested for pre-event prep, and the Omorovicza’s Purifying Mud Ritual, which includes a detox salt exfoliation followed by a cleansing mud wrap with moor mud from Hungarian thermal waters.
The Spa will participate in its first Global Wellness Day (now celebrated in more than 4,000 locations in 100 countries) on June 10 by offering additional spa services. For example the hotel has partnered with AKT to bring celebrity trainer Anna Kaiser’s signature Happy Hour Class to the spa. Anna Kaiser will open the morning with a chat to the group on how to integrate health and fitness regiments into daily lifestyles. The following 60-minute Happy Hour class led by Ariel Hoffman, master trainer and director of professional development at AKT,.will alternate between choreographed combinations of dance cardio, toning and dynamic flexibility sections.Hunter Cressman will give an introductory talk on Vedic meditation and how it a works for the modern mind.
Four Seasons properties around the world will also note the day with special treatments and experiences. For example Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills will host a number of celebrity wellness experts and conduct an afternoon Eco Beauty panel. At the Four Seasons Resorts in Punta Mita, Mexico. Palm Beach, and Hualalai, guests will be able to take part in sunrise meditation programs. Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara will be leading a full wellness retreat leading up to Global Wellness Day.
Since opening last autumn, the Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, an 82-story structure designed by Robert A.M. Stern, has become a neighborhood mecca with the property’s restaurant Cut from Wolfgang Puck packed by the Downtown financial crowd and publishing execs. Other property highlights include what the hotel is calling its range of “specialty” suites. For out-of-towners with deep pockets the Royal suite on the 24th floor not only offers sweeping views of the city, but such services as airport transfers by helicopter and butler services. No mater which room you book, you can count on sleeping on one of the Four Seasons famous customizable beds and order from a 24-hour in-room menu that will provide breakfast, lunch or dinner at any time of the day.
