Quick Hits Boston: Cars & Coffee with Herb Chambers

We caught up recently with Chambers to discuss how the event came about and what car from his own personal collection he will be bringing on Sunday. “A personal friend of mine, Wayne Carini, has a show on the Velocity Channel called ‘Chasing Classic Cars‘ and told me about how this coffee event was being done in California, so I thought it would be a great idea to have one on the East Coast,” Chambers said. “There is no charge for admission. It’s simply an opportunity for people who love cars to bring them together at this special meeting. It’s interesting because with every collectible car, there is a special story. Families come with their luxury, sports and collectible cars. It’s a really fun event.”

The coffee social is being held for auto enthusiasts monthly through October on Sunday mornings from 7 to 10 a.m. for classic, vintage and specialty car and motorcycle enthusiasts. “It gives people with a special car a destination to go to so they can show it off,” he said. “On Sunday, I will be bringing my Dual Ghia four-passenger convertible. Chrysler originally built the model and it was referred to as the Car of the Stars as it was a favorite by the Rat Pack and there were only 70 models built.”

August 13: Herb Chambers Flagship Motorcars of Lynnfield (385 Broadway, Route 1 North)

September 10: Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham (141 Derby Street)

October 8: Herb Chambers Ford of Westborough (310 Turnpike Road, Route 9)

In the event of rain, the event will be held the following Sunday after its originally scheduled date.
