From a street racing undercover cop, to a marine sergeant, and lending his voice and image to a navy seal in one of the biggest video game franchises in history, Celestino Cornielle has quickly become known for the dynamic characters he has brought to life on screen. In 2017 Celestino can be seen in the highly anticipated “The Fate of the Furious,” the latest installment of the “Fast & the Furious” franchise, this Friday as Raldo. In addition to “The Fate of the Furious” Celestino recently wrapped filming the two-episode season finale of TNT’s hit series “Major Crimes,” playing Cristian Ortiz, a former marine who, after being wrongfully imprisoned for 11 years, has declared war against the city of L.A.
Additional recent credits for Celestino include guest star roles on: “Shooter” for USA Network, “Minority Report” and “The Finder” for FOX, “Agent X” and “Rizzoli & Isles” for TNT, “NCIS Los Angeles,” “CSI Miami,” and “The Mentalist” for CBS, Agents of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” for ABC, “House of Payne,” (various networks), and “Dexter” for Showtime, to name a few. Outside of film and television Celestino has also worked in the video game world- being physically scanned & lending his voice to a character in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Celestino is the youngest of six children. His family immigrated to the United States when he was five years old, settling in New York. They eventually landed in Miami where he began his acting career. One of his first credits was appearing in the independent film “Carlita’s Secret” opposite Eva Longoria. Celestino actually auditioned for “2 Fast 2 Furious” while in Miami, and didn’t get the role, which motivated him to seriously pursue this career path.
While acting is one of his greatest passions, Celestino lives an eclectic and exciting life outside of the characters he portrays. He loves antique motorcycles and cars and is an urban shaman currently authoring two books on his earth-based spirituality. Possessing a flair for fashion, he and his wife design jewelry and collaborate on several collections, including an ultra feminine goddess collection that empowers women, and an earthy unisex collection called “Ushaman Tribe” that mixes gold, leather, and power stones. Some of his designs where actually used on “The Fate of The Furious.” Celestino currently resides in the LA area with his wife, and their two pit bull rescues.
