Haute Secrets: ‘Powerless’ Star Christina Kirk

You  might recognize Christina Kirk from the big screen—she recently starred in Ira Sach’s “Love Is Strange” and Ang Lee’s “Taking Woodstock”—or from the small screen in highly acclaimed TV shows including “The Newsroom,” “Girls,” “The Good Wife,” “Law & Order” and cult hits “Delocated” and “Children’s Hospital.” You may even recognize her from the stage, where she began her career starring  in “Well” on Broadway, “The Knickerbocker” at the Public Theater and, most recently, the Broadway production of “Clybourne Park,” which won the Tony Award for Best Play in 2012. Now, you’ll see this New York-born actress starring in NBC’s DC Comics series, “Powerless,” where she plays Jackie, Van Wayne’s (Alan Tudyk‘s) beleaguered and long-suffering executive assistant. Here, Kirk shares her haute secrets to the City of Angels.

Favorite Cultural Event: Free Summer Jazz concerts at LACMA  (alright, i confess it’s on the long list of things i want to experience but haven’t quite yet!)
 
Favorite Cultural Institution: Center Theater Group 
 
Best Pizza: Village Pizzeria, NY style pizza in LA 
 
Best Lunch: The sandwiches at Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits and Cheese 
 
Best Gym/Athletic Facility: Fitmix Endurance Pilates and Treadmill on La Brea Avenue (also locations in Atwater and opening soon in Encino!)
 
Best Museum/Exhibit: LACMA
 
Describe your city in three words:  multifaceted, unexpected, creative 
 
Favorite historic/legendary place to see or explore: The fact that i don’t have an answer to this makes me realize I need to do some investigation – I’ll start by reading other people’s hauteliving answers ASAP)
 
All-around favorite spot in Los Angeles: Runyon Canyon – offers hiking, nature, views, people-watching and perspective — right the middle of the city
