JONATHAN ADLER DESIGNS A [RED] SUITE FOR THE ANDAZ WEST HOLLYWOOD
Andaz announced a first-of-its-kind collaboration with (RED) – the AIDS organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver, debuting a new (RED) room at the Andaz West Hollywood. Acclaimed designer and longtime (RED) supporter Jonathan Adler designed and outfitted an all-new suite in red, white and blue with rock n’ roll art including concert photography, an image of Bianca Jagger’s platform shoe, and a one-of-a-kind mural by international street artist Kelsey Montague. 30 percent of all booking sales go to (RED).
LAUREL HARDWARE LAUNCHES NEW MEZCAL BAR
West Hollywood staple Laurel Hardware is opening the new Mexican-themed Mezcal Bar today. Mezcal Bar, which you’ll find nestled behind a curtain, will offer seasonal Mezcal-infused cocktails and contemporary Mexican cuisine in a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. From its authentic menu to its intricate design and speakeasy vibe, it is sure to become a premier destination for locals throughout Los Angeles. The cocktail menu will feature Mezcal-oriented craft cocktails composed of seasonal ingredients and nearly 100 different Mezcals sourced from over 50 distillers. The Mezcal-infused beverages range from their Dr. Lakra cocktail – a rich blend of Ilegal Mezcal Anejo, cube of Aztec bitters, demerara sugar and ancho chili oil – to their María Sabina cocktail – a sweet concoction of Los Nahuales Reposado Mezcal, Japanese whisky, blood orange, basil and lavender vanilla espuma. Signature dishes include Chilled Lobster Tostadas, Tuna Crudo and Al Pastor Tacos – all sourced with local ingredients and flavors To complement the handcrafted menu, co-owners Dean McKillen and Phil Howard custom built each and every detail of the space: hand-carved wood floors with Italian-imported marble inlay, wood panel walls that have been precisely book matched, luxurious plush seating composed of warm- colored fabrics by Loro Piana, a subtle handcrafted wood fireplace mantle and vintage mirrors on the table tops, behind the bar and lining the ceiling that give the room a sexy and spacious feel.

HERMES SHOWS ITS DWNTWN MEN COLLECTION IN DOWNTOWN L.A.
Hermès came to Downtown LA for a special evening event on Thursday: the fashion brand previewed its Hermes Menswear DwntwnMen spring/summer 2017 collections, highlighting the multiple facets of menswear from ready-to-wear to accessories including limited edition pieces such as the Dwntwn Men Kick Sneaker. Véronique Nichanian, artistic director of the men’s universe at Hermès, worked with graphic artist Anthony Burrill to imagine seven lively slogans that evoke a bright, colorful spirit to DwntwnMen, creating an experience that is at once sensorial and digital. In addition to its Spring/Summer 2017 runway show, there were several know-hows on site including a legendary Voisin automobile, a motorbike and a miscellany of objects. There was also a basketball themed room with a court and basket competition as well as arcade games as well as a concert, a DJ, food trucks and performances

JOYCE AZRIA LAUNCHES FASHION LINE
Joyce Azria, daughter of L.A.-based fashion designer Max Azria—the founder of Herve Leger and BCBG—has created her own label. Aves les Filles (French for “with the girls”) is targeted at millennials. It is sold online and in 155 Macy’s stores.
EUGENIA KIM DEBUTS NEW HANDBAG LINE
Hat designer Eugenia Kim is getting into the handbag game, launching a series of straw styles priced between $365 and $495. The two new styles include the Flavia, an upside-down hat, and the Carlotta, a large straw tote that has the option to be embroidered with the word “rebel.” The bags are available for sale at Net-a-porter.
