Haute Weekend Roundup in Boston

Last week, we gave you a preview of some of the best St. Patrick’s Day events being held throughout the city of Boston. The celebration continued through the weekend when some of the biggest names in Boston politics gathered yesterday morning for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast hosted by Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry. From state representatives and veterans advocates to Mayor Marty Walsh and Governor Charlie Baker, politicians gathered at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center before the annual South Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade where jokes ranged from Tom Brady to President Trump.

If you didn’t make it to the parade yesterday, perhaps you were lucky enough to check out KODO at Symphony Hall.  The troupe celebrated its 35th anniversary this year by bringing Dadan 2017 to North America. The sold-out performance in Boston by KODO’s Artistic Director Tamasaburo Bando offered a mesmerizing exploration of Japanese drumming traditions combined with artistry and physical endurance. The group is now headed to Santa Fe, New Mexico for its next performance.

The Nantucket Wine & Food Festival announced this weekend it will be hosting a preview event at The Rooftop at Taj Boston on Tuesday, April 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests will get a sneak peek at this year’s attending lineup of celebrity chefs, vintners and events being held on the island May 17-21.

With winter officially behind us, it’s time to start thinking about patio season. We were thrilled to hear Serafina will be introducing an al fresco haute spot this spring to be known as Il Giardino at Serafina or “The Garden at Serafina.” When the weather finally heats up, we can all enjoy some sunny dining on their 74-seat patio in the Financial District while noshing on Italian specialties.
