Uncle Harry’s Debuts at The Harrison

Leave it to Ken Fulk to name the city’s hautest new private lounge after a hypothetical crazy old uncle. Uncle Harry’s is the sensational top floor space at The Harrison, the luxury highrise from Maximus Real Estate Partners. Uncle Harry’s is located on the 49th floor of the 298-unit residential tower and it has stunning unparalleled views of the Bay. The Harrison’s creative director Ken Fulk designed the 3,500 square-foot lounge. “As you stand in front of these panoramic views of the Bay with Treasure Island in the near distance, it feels like you could be living in any moment of San Francisco history,” Fulk said in a statement released by The Harrison. “Throughout the years, this city has been a gateway to the Pacific and the world beyond—and we are on that same world stage again—so that was our inspiration. It’s meant to feel like the living room of your most interesting ancestor—that adventurous, world-traveling great uncle.”

There are two rooms in the lounge: a large main living room with a bar and dramatic double-sided fireplace with plush sofas and vintage swivel chairs, and a separate smaller room that has a private dining table. The intimate room is the ideal space for a dinner party—the table seats 14 and an adjacent catering kitchen features two Bertazzoni ranges and Fisher Paykel warming ovens. The decor is sumptuous, rich, and inviting. Fulk painted the walls in a beautiful lacquered green and filled the space with a collection of vintage and modern furnishings. Classic to Fulk’s style, there are plenty of textures, prints, and metals. Think blue velvet, brass fretwork, black marble, and distressed wood. Keeping up with the world-traveler theme, Fulk also used vintage African Kuba cloth, crocodile-embossed leather, and safari chintz.

The lounge is available to The Harrison’s residential community for hosted group and private events. Uncle Harry’s will also have ongoing exclusive event programming curated by the tower’s dedicated concierge service, The Harrison Attaché. Events will include wine tastings, dinners with top chefs, art lectures, and other cultural programs. Rumor has it Sonya Molodetskaya is hosting the launch of her pop-up fashion line at Uncle Harry’s, so clearly it’s the hottest new venue in town.
