Serenity Medspa Expands, Adds Exciting New Treatments

Nineteen months ago Serenity MedSpa moved into a new and much larger space—suddenly the spa, which specializes in everything from laser hair removal to the latest in facial technologies, had become one of the biggest medical spas in San Francisco. Last week Serenity, which is owned and operated by brother and sister, Dr. David Kang and Dr. Lisa Kang, became even bigger. The spa took over another floor of the Post Street building—now it’s on both the 2nd and 6th floors. The beautiful and soothing space was designed by the lovely Sophie Azouaou, owner of SophiSticate Interiors. Azouaou used only recycled materials to make the spa as non-invasive, healthy, and green as possible. The rejuvenated spa has white marble tile floors, grey tufted love seats, interesting sculptures, and artwork by local painter Sergey Konstantinov and photographer David Perea. It’s not at all clinical, but luxurious and inviting. Azouaou created the calming pale green paint that covers all of the walls. The color has become so popular that ‘Sophie’s Green’ (which also happens to be made of low volatile organic compounds) is now a shade available at Creative Paint.

With 10 treatment rooms on the 2nd floor and eight on the 6th floor, the spa has launched an assortment of new services including the proven-to-work human growth factor and stem cell-based skincare lines. “We are excited to offer the PDO thread lift,” Dr. Lisa Kang said in a statement. “Short of an actual surgical facelift or necklift, PDO thread lift is the best way to naturally and non-invasively lift up the loose skin on the face and neck, safely and effectively with very minimal downtime.” The 6th floor will focus exclusively on body treatments and they have installed two new machines: the BTL Vanquish ME and the BTL Exilis Ultra. There are also new product lines at the spa. “We are now very excited to offer the most advanced and effective skincare lines on the market using next generation stem cell technologies: DefenAge, Omni Bioceutical Innovations and Neogenesis,” Dr. Lisa Kang said. “With the addition of these skin treatment and product lines, we can truly offer anti-aging treatments that reverses damage caused by aging and environment.”

To commemorate the expansion, the spa hosted a lavish event last week. Dazzling displays of cascading orchids filled the space and award-winning wines were poured. The party was hosted by Azouaou and Joel Goodrich. Notable attendees included as Sonya Molodestkaya, Lawrence Wong, Bill Sautter, Jill Pietrowiak, Elaine Mellis, Teresa Rodriguez, Beth Schnitzer, Ken Henderson, Joe Seller, and Mary Beth La Motte.
