The SPCA of Texas Fur Ball is Just Around the Corner

The countdown has officially began and in less than a month, on Saturday, September 24, 2016 the SPCA Texas will host their annual Fur Ball Gala. The black tie event to be held at the Omni Dallas Hotel will be chaired by Phyllis Comu, a longtime supporter of the SPCA, who has been volunteering with the organization since 2004. Co-Chairing the event will be Kristen Greenberg and acting as Auction Chair, Sandra Fite.

The SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Texas is the leading animal welfare agency in North Texas. Currently it is comprised of two shelters and three spay/neuter clinics located in Dallas and McKinney. Since its inception in 1938, the nonprofit organization serves as an active resource center providing an array of programs and initiatives that bring people and animals together to enrich each others’ lives. It is projected that this year, the SPCA Texas programs will serve more than 50,000 animals throughout as many as eight North Texas Counties.

All of the foundation’s work would be in vain; however, and their goal to raise more than $500,000 for rescue and shelter programs to bring awareness to end animal abuse would not be possible without the support of patrons. The annual Fur Ball is the culmination of those efforts in bringing the necessary funds to continue endeavors in making a difference in promoting the quality of life for animals.

The gala’s theme is “Shedding Light On Their Future” and will be emceed by Real Housewife of Dallas, LeeAnne Locken. The event is certain to be a memorable one complete with dinner, signature cocktails, live entertainment by Emerald City Band, “Limelight” and fabulous live and silent auctions.
