How does a Napa Valley family wine dynasty keep things fresh after seven successful decades in the business? With 40 different wine labels under their name, the Trinchero family relies on passion and innovation to move their brand forward. As true wine-making pioneers, these founders of iconic Sutter Home have continued to elevate their artistry with the 2007 opening of Trinchero Napa Valley (TNV) in St. Helena, and the unveiling of their haute Heritage Collection of wines. As any hospitality expert knows, spectacular wines are best served in a spectacular setting, and that setting has arrived in the form of TNV’s sumptuous new Tasting Room.

Slated to open in late June, TNV’s new Tasting Room is a seamless accompaniment to the winery’s luxurious Hospitality Center. Built as an homage to founders Mario and Mary Trinchero, the space is the epitome of Napa Valley graciousness, and further elevates the already state-of-the-art winery and gourmet culinary center.

TNV sits at the heart of Napa Valley with stunning views of Spring Mountain to the west and Howell Mountain to the east. The Trinchero family picked the 22-acre site as the perfect place to craft their estate-grown, limited production wines. And the new Tasting Room is the perfect space in which to taste the artistry of pedigreed winemaker Mario Monticelli.

The new Tasting Room, designed by BAR Architects of San Francisco and built by Facility Development Corporation of Santa Rosa, was shaped by the creative vision of Bobby Torres, third-generation Trinchero family member and UC Berkeley architectural degree grad. Torres was aided by renowned local designer Erin Martin who added whimsical and warm timeless touches that reflect the Trinchero family’s Italian roots and history.

The look is modern, yet classic, reflecting the newer Trinchero family generations. French oak floors, painted chevron patterns, custom light fixtures and chandeliers, and custom-made furniture in brown and cognac tones dominate the haute space. Michael Dute, one of the world’s premier decorative painters, created the ceiling art, and Casey Gunschel crafted the tooled leather wall in the VIP bar space.

Tasting Room guests are invited to enjoy the entire TNV facility, boasting a fire pit, gravel paths, stairways and terraces that capitalize on the sloping terrain and the unique St. Helena valley views.
