That’s Haute: The Microsoft HoloLens

As the landscape for holograms continues to flourish, a slew of new products appear on the market every day. Paving the way for the implementation of this technology is you guessed it, Microsoft. Their HoloLens Development Edition will give developers the ability to interact with high-definition holograms in their own world. For a cool $3,000, these developers will seek to transform the way we communicate, create, collaborate and explore. The Microsoft HoloLens itself will run entirely on Windows 10, the first platform to support holographic computing with APIs that facilitate gaze, gesture, voice and environmental awareness on an untethered device. This feat leads us one step closer to holographic technology for consumer use. We will soon live in a world where we can conceptualize and realize our ideas in an extremely visual way. We can’t wait to see where this new technology takes us!
