Luc Robitaille is a legend in the game of hockey. The former pro, now retired and serving as President of Business Operations for the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, is a Stanley Cup winner best known for his three different stints, with the Kings. He served as Kings team captain during the 1992–93 season and for the final two games of the 2005–06 season. Robitaille retired after the 2005–06 season as the highest-scoring left winger in NHL history and the holder of several Kings franchise records, along with numerous Kings playoff records. Last month, the hockey great brought his Luc Robitaille Celebrity Shootout, which benefits the organization Echoes of Hope, to Los Angeles for the first time ever after eight years at the Sundance Film Festival. The high-energy event brought together Hollywood celebrities and NHL greats to play a friendly game of hockey to benefit the charity, which he founded with his wife, Stacia, and which strives to inspire hope in the lives of at-risk and emancipated foster youth. The organization assists youth in their pursuit of independence, empowerment and a post-secondary education. Here, this NHL legend sat down with Haute Living to divulge his secrets to the City of Angels.
