W Hotel Hosts The 10th Anniversary Of The Music Lounge By BMF + iHeart Media
In case you were hiding under a rock during one of the busiest months of the year in the city of Miami, we are here to provide you with a detailed three-day recap of the hottest events and beats of the 2016 Miami Music Week.
Sponsored by 7UP, V Moda, Jägermeister, Heineken, and Swatch, the W South Beach Hotel was the VIP hot spot of the week. Over a dozen of the world’s top DJs were spotted relaxing with international socialites Jeremy Shockey, Laidback Luke’s wife DJ Gina Turner, Insomniac’s Luke Przybylski, talent manager Aubrey Wright, Victoria Secret Angel Romee Strijd and Sunnery James’s wife supermodel Doutzen Kroes, power couples Alexandra Backstrom and Martin Danielle, Tony and Ximena Cho, to name a few.
At the Billboard Lounge, DJ Irie was spotted rocking matching Swatch watches with Football player Reggie Bush who had his wife Lilit Avagyan, by his side at all times. Other notables on site included Magic Johnson’s son, and Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star EJ Johnson who interacted with fans and took expected selfies in the crowd.
Grammy-nominated Dutchman Armin van Buuren, who’s been in the music industry for over 20 years and has broadcasted more than 750 shows of “State of Trance”, told us that even after all this time his daughter still doesn’t understand what he’s doing while watching him DJ and often asks if he’s OK.
Martin Garrix, who we didn’t catch one time not smiling or in great spirits, lounged at the Crave/7up VIP booth where he released his brand new, inspiring music video “Music Lifts You Up”.
“I incorporated deaf people into the video because music is much more than just sound. It’s vibrations, emotions and vibes,” said 19 years old music maven Martin Garrix.
Kaskade, Afrojack, dynamic duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Above & Beyond, Steve Aoki, Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia and Cash Cash, performed there for three days straight giving their fans an explosion of music that ranged from commercial soulfull house, to electronic, deep beats.
Presented by DJ Hollywood, Audien and James Hype were recognized and honored at the iHeart Remix Awards for their innovative, experimental beats.
This week was actually all fun and games, if you don’t believe us just ask Disclosure whom in between set, were extremely determined to win every DJ ping pong battle on the Swatch “I Always Want More” table.
