New Trend London: Late-Night Restaurant Menus
For a city that’s always moving, it can be hard to find quality eats around the clock in London. A recent movement has seen haute restaurants extending their hours for busy customers and late night eaters. Now instead of that one late night pizza place in your neighborhood, you have a few new high-end options. The Telegraph lists four trendy London hotspots that have just prolonged their hours so that you don’t have to long for their eats.
Bo Drake
You might have heard of the modern Asian restaurant Bo Drake; but are you familiar with Bo Drake Late? This haute eatery has just introduced a series of seasonally themed late-night offerings. Every weekend starting at 10pm the Greek Street restaurant serves up a specially curated menu of ‘harder’ cocktails and light bites. Think innovative plates like furikake popcorn with seaweed, sesame butter, sweet potato and dried squid.
Shotgun
There is something about sandwiches that make them the perfect late night bite. Shotgun understands this and have created a unique sandwich menu available only from 10.30 to 11.30pm. The sandwiches largely reflect Mississippi-born chef Brad McDonalds roots. Imagine being able to have a Westcombe cheddar and pickle mayo or Carolina pulled pork sandwich late at night. Now realize that it is entirely possible; all you have to do is make a quick stop at Shotgun.
Mommi
Late-night two-for-one cocktails on a Friday night? We think yes! Mommi is your new favorite spot for fusion tapas and crafted libations. The Latin/Japanese inspired menu has just received a late-night edit. Their after-hours edition will be served Friday and Saturday from 10.30-midnight with eats like padrón peppers with sea salt and slow-cooked teriyaki short-rib. Don’t miss out on their unheard of late happy hour deal with drinks like The Bambalan with Campari, pisco pineapple, grapefruit, lime.
45 Jermyn Street
If your late-night self is feeling fancy, 45 Jermyn Street is the option for you. The upscale eatery just recently opened at Fortnum and Mason, and the London after-hours food scene will never be the same. A post-10pm dinner menu features it’s very own Caviar Trolley that can be found passing by your tables providing the delicacy by the gram. If that wasn’t enough you can also get stunning plates with interesting ingredients like a Goan monkfish curry or a calf’s live with bubble ‘n’ squeak. Just because it’s late, doesn’t mean it can’t be exciting.
