With the holidays here, now is the time to add some sparkle to your face that will match your festive wardrobe. We called on M·A·C Cosmetics Senior Artist Louise Zizzo to offer five tips for creating the perfect holiday makeup look using the M·A·C Magic Of The Night Collection, which recently arrived in stores. This talented makeup artist has been at her craft since 1994 and worked her magic on boldface names such as Fergi, Gwen Stefani, Duran Duran and Cyndi Lauper and done runway makeup for countless fashion houses, including L.A.M.B, Zac Posen, DKNY, Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Balenciaga, Salvatore Ferragamo, Missoni, Marni and Vera Wang. Here are Rizzo’s tips:

A quick and easy way to “dress up” your make up and take it from office to party is by adding some shimmer and highlights to the eyes and cheeks or go daring with a deep lipstick or both!

Bring The Drama

Try M·A·C Colourdrenched Pigment in Night Thrill and simply brush over the entire eye lid and blend out at the edges with the M·A·C 213 Fluff Brush, add a thick coat of M·A·C Extended Play Lash to the top and bottom lashes. With the M·A·C 137 Long Blending Brush, dust M·A·C In Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh, Darling on the cheek bones a touch on the temples and a wisp on the bridge of the nose to add a touch of glamour.

Go Mysterious

To create a dark sultry pout, first prep the lip with lip conditioner and blot. This will help dark colors glide on easily for a velvet smooth finish. Outline the lip and shade in slightly with M·A·C Lip Pencil in Nightmoth. Apply M·A·C Lipstick in Dark Side all over with a M·A·C 316 Lip Brush. This will help you get that perfect edge. To check for symmetry, tilt you head slightly back while looking in the mirror to see if the bottom lip is even, and then tilt your head down slightly to check if the top lip is even.

For a smokey eye that will last product choice is key.

The Eyes Have It

M·A·C Pearglide Intense Eye Liner will glide on easily yet let you blend—but once on will stay for the night! Use M·A·C Pearglide Intense Eye Liner in Petrol Blue and draw a thick line across the top and bottom lash line from the inner corner to the outer corner then smudge with the M·A·C 219 Pencil Brush, intensify by pressing M·A·C Colourdrenched Pigment in No Taboos using M·A·C 266 Small Angle Brush across both lash lines. Finish with a coat of M·A·C False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara on top and bottom lashes.

A glowing skin and bright lip is a great way to enhance your holiday cheer.

SMILE!

Smile at yourself in the mirror, and with M·A·C 129 Powder/Blush Brush, in a circular motion buff M·A·C In Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Shaft of Gold onto the apples of the cheeks and blend back towards the hairline. To enhance an all over glow, spritz M·A·C Prep + Prime Natural Radiance over the entire face.

Fill Out That Pucker

To give a fuller look to the lips dust across the cupids bow M·A·C In Extra Dimension Skinfinish Oh, Darling with M·A·C 224 Tapered Blending Brush. Take Lip Pencil in Redd and outline and fill in the entire lip. This will create longevity and intensity. With M·A·C 316 Lip Brush. Apply M·A·C Retro Matte Lipstick in All Fired Up all over. For a final touch, to add shimmer without gloss, brush what’s left on your brush of M·A·C In Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh, Darling lightly across the center of the lips.

You are now ready!
