Congratulations to David Kinch and his team at Manresa, which was honored with a lofty third Michelin star to bring the number of three-Michelin starred SF Bay Area restaurants to a whopping five. Good luck getting a reservation now that his Los Gatos eatery has joined the ranks of The French Laundry in Yountville, The Restaurant at Meadowood in St. Helena and San Francisco’s Saison and Benu.

Kinch re-opened Manresa in February after a devastating fire in July 2014, giving him even more reason to celebrate. “It is all about Manresa Family. I love u all. You are most deserving of our 3 Stars in the 2016 SF Michelin Guide!!” Kinch Tweeted after learning of the news on Oct. 20.

We also toast Executive Chef Srijith Gopinathan and his gang at Campton Place, where we can personally recommend Sri’s Spice Route tasting menu, as well as James Syhabout and Commis in Oakland for being elevated to two-Michelin star status.

A slew of restaurants picked up their first Michelin star:  All Spice (SF location), Al’s Place, which in August was named the country’s best new restaurant by Bon Appetit, Aster, Californios, Commonwealth, Kin Khao, Lazy Bear, whose executive chef David Barzelay is featured in our current issue, Lord Stanley, Mourad, Nico, Octavia, Omakase, Rasa, Sushi Yoshizumi and Wako. We give a special shout out to Mourad Lahlou for now having two Michelin-starred restaurants in the same city since his Aziza retained its star. Unfortunately, a few eateries did lose theirs: Boulevard, La Folie and Maruya, all in San Francisco, and Madera inside the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park.

Here’s the complete list because we know you foodies will want to start checking them off:
