4 NYC Not-To-Miss Fall Boutique Openings
New York is the center of the shopping universe— new shops open monthly with goodies for every sweet tooth. We’ve put a list together of the latest stores to open in the Big Apple— just in time for fall sale season!
The Italian accessory brand, Furla has opened a new flagship on the corner of 51 and 5th Avenue. Previously they had a shop on 57th and Madison which closed a while ago. This new retail incarnation signals the brand’s growth strategy to increase consumer awareness in one of the biggest shopping captials on one of the most visable shopping avenues. “The store is uniquely designed to interpret the modern day Italian lifestyle” said a company representative which translates to a modern airly decor. To celebrate the opening they have created a limited edition “Fifth Avenue” collection of bags and small leather goods including a “Metropolous” bag which features the iconic NYC skyscrapers in a graphic print with color accents with the NY lady liberty also making an appearance ( see above).
WANT les Essentiels started with a simple canvas and leather bag and has grown to a full on movement—back to baisics and the luxury of simplicity. The brothers and co-founders , Byron and Dexter Peart, hail from Canada and now are bringing their version of chic basics in bags, leather goods and clothing to New York’s West Village.

Cos, the favorite shop of fashion editors and bloggers alike that launched in London in 2007, has opened a second New York outpost on a spot which previously housed an H&M. Its a big statement of the brand that is known for its paired down embellishments and streamlined silhouettes minus any hint of frill. It’s clothing for women (and mens—20% of the stock) who are looking for something that stands apart from the frey with prices from $100 to $395.
Djula the French maker of fine jewelery started by Alexandre Carrot in 1994 and known for its modern pieces, has a new outpost on tony Madison Avenue or luxury row. The 323 square foot shop has an ebony painted exterior and has a distinctly French feel. Djula is currently sold at specialty retailers and department stores but is planning on targeting other locations in an effort to expand the brand recognition. London, Geneva, Russia and the Middle East are on the roster to open in the near future. Known for innovative and modern design with diamond knuckle rings, earrings that swoop up the edge of the ear and butterfly rings that flutter between the fingers as the most directional and artistic pieces.
