TAG Heuer Ambassadors Nervo and Giancarlo Stanton Share the Stage
An elite athlete like Marlin’s slugger Giancarlo Stanton paired with EDM DJs Olivia and Miriam Nervo aka. Nervo might seem at first like an unlikely combo for an event, but they came together for one night for an event with Haute Living and TAG Heuer, for which all three are brand ambassadors. The special night took place in the Design District’s Palm Court special events space.
Stanton acquiesced to both remote and on-side interviews from a step-and-repeat set amongst sporty chronograph watches. Once the questioning was over, everyone got to go upstairs to what equated to a chic, temporary TAG-branded nightclub with its own VIP lounge by Fendi Casa, thumping music, and live DJ show by the sisters.
Once the party got going, Stanton took to the stage with the sisters and got a crash course in mixing, and definitely seemed to be having a good time. Olivia, known as “Liv” explained to Haute Living, “Giancarlo is actually the second sports star that we tried to teach how to DJ (we taught Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open earlier this year) and he was really good. He might just be a DJ one day.”
After the main event, VVIPs made their way to Michael Schwartz’s Cypress Room for a dinner sponsored by Haute Living and Tag Heuer celebrating Stanton’s Haute Living cover. It was an elegant 5-course tasting dinner that included dishes like Peekytoe Crab with Green Apple Salad, Anson Mills Polenta with truffle and wild mushroom ragout and a Spit-Roasted Porcelet.
Magazine publisher Kamal Hotchandani raised a glass and gave a toast to Stanton, and he was presented with a larger-than-life painting by Los Angeles artist Mark Paul Deren, who goes by Madsteez. Joining the baseball player and celebrity DJS were basketball great Scottie Pippen along with his wife Larsa as well as heavyweight champ, Lennox Lewis.
