When you consider that it takes the best woman at least 20 products and a half hour of beautifying to affect that “natural” L.A. golden girl look, it shouldn’t come as too much of a shocker than some starlets spend days—even weeks—primping and preparing for awards season red carpets. With the 2015 Emmy Awards impending this Sunday, we decided to do some investigative research and see what the stars really do to get ready before TV’s biggest night.
A WEEK BEFORE
GLOBAL LASER
Start as you mean to go on, we say. Prime your skin in advance (just in case there’s any lingering redness or puffiness—though there shouldn’t be) with the Global Laser at Kate Somerville. This revolutionary treatment delivers breakthrough results after just one session. The laser heats abnormal vessels that cause discoloration and helps eliminate vascular conditions, redness, rosacea and discoloration, giving you a more normalized skin tone and color. Basically, it will give you a great canvas to work with and younger-looking skin.

3 DAYS BEFORE
BODYFX BY INMODE
Now it’s time for the body. Break down fat or simply tighten with the BodyFx by Inmode at Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center. This machine is like magic: it not only reduces dimpled skin, and deals with pesky loss of elasticity on the abs, love handles, hips thighs, but also provides a long-lasting non-invasive solution to reduce the unsightly appearance of cellulite. Technically if you want the full result of this treatment, it’s advised that you have six to eight sessions, which means that you need to start six to eight weeks in advance, but it doesn’t hurt to schedule one of those last sessions a few days before the big event. Goodbye forever muffin top!

THE DAY OF
FIRE AND ICE FACIAL
The Fire and Ice Facial is great for those who have been on countless red carpets already and have destressed skin that’s in need of a serious Emmy day boost. This luxurious, intensive clinical treatment is designed to resurface the skin rapidly and safely. Precise combinations of two professional treatment masks are complemented by serums and creams, with aromas of warm cinnamon spice and cool peppermint. Note: it will burn, but pain is beauty, right? The good news is that you’ll leave with absolutely perfect, glowing skin. Side note: this facial cannot be performed if you are currently using any type of retinols, Retin-A or Accutane, or any form of glycolic acids.

PURE GOLD RADIANCE FACIAL
La Prairie’s gold standard for anti-aging uses cellular radiance concentrate pure gold to visibly lift, firm, brighten and energize. This revitalizing facial starts with a soothing foot bath and uses the most subtle 24-karat incandescent glow so your skin will look and feel radiant, luscious and vibrantly alive. You’ll have that golden girl glow whether you like it or not! You might also say this fabulous facial is worth its weight in gold—24 karat, specifically.

UPTINI
Though we recommend an “uptini” you can pick any of the fun cocktail-themed styles at Ali Webb‘s ingenious Dry Bar locations (our favorite is the CosmoTai). An uptini—an updo essentially—is always a sure thing for a big awards night. Even better, Webb now offer Dry on the Fly—so Dry Bar comes to you instead of vice versa, which, for busy VIPs, will totally make your day easier.

THE DAY AFTER
INDULGENCE MASSAGE
The day is done, you’ve had far too much champagne, slept too little and your tootsies are in PAIN from those killer heels (and all the dancing you did at the Governor’s Ball and HBO parties). Head to Ciel Spa at the SLS for the ultimate in relaxation: the spa’s Indulgence massage. You’ll star off with a soothing soak in an oversized tub while enjoying (yet another) glass of champagne. This will be followed by a 90-minute Ciel Stone Therapy Massage and L’Aroma Remedy to relax your aching muscles. Haute!
