The al fresco area is the perfect place for kids to move around under the supervision of restaurant staff so their parents can enjoy their meal. Among the activities offered are face painting, interactive games, and balloon shows. Children under the age of ten will enjoy a specially tailored menu with dishes like sautéed chicken strips with roasted potatoes, pasta, breaded chicken goujons, and turkey, ham and cheese with French fries. Café Rouge makes eating greens fun as well, serving up all kids’ dishes with a large salad or portion of sweet corn and garden peas. There’s also ice cream and other goodies for kids.

Their parents will also enjoy a special menu on kid-friendly Fridays filled with Café Rouge’s best and most popular signature dishes like Croque Monsieur, which is a three-layer turkey, ham, and Gruyere cheese sandwich, or Poulet Escalope, which is a chicken breast escalope breaded and fried. For dessert, the adult menu includes items like Crème Brulee with raspberry sorbet or Dark Chocolate Ganache, which is served up with rich chocolate ice cream.

Café Rouge was originally founded in London in 1989 by Karen Jones and Roger Myers. They wanted to bring great French cuisine and wine to the U.K. in a bistro atmosphere. The Dubai location was their first outside of the U.K., and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should definitely try it. There’s even a private dining area for those who want a bit more of an intimate affair.
