2 London Restaurants With Three Michelin Stars
In a city deemed as one of the world’s top culinary destinations, it may surprise you to know that there are only two restaurants in London blessed with a three-star Michelin rating.
Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester
The Dorchester is a London icon known for its opulence and style. Only a select few have the budget to be a guest here, and they expect excellence throughout their experience. That is precisely why the famed Alain Ducasse had the privilege of opening his eatery here. The internationally renowned chef is most noted for his exquisite flare for French cuisine. Which is exactly what you’ll get to taste at his beautifully decadent restaurant.
Delicacies such as duck foie gras, Scottish langoustines and apricot soufflé can be had here. They have a series of different menus reflecting seasonal and tasting options. You can expect an environment as extravagant as your meal. In the middle of the restaurant the most exclusive table designed by Patrick Jouin will have you encircled by a curtain of 4,500 cracked fibre-optic strands that hang from the ceiling. This in turn acts a centerpiece for the whole restaurant. The icing on the cake is the Hermes china and Saint-Louis crystal your food will be presented on. It’s culinary luxury at its finest.
Not too far away you will find another French restaurant worthy of the coveted 3-Michelin star approval. Gordon Ramsay is a celebrity chef; you might know his name from popular TV shows like “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef.” While he may be an on-screen star, he is most famous for his action in the kitchen. He has earned a totally of 16 Michelin stars and currently holds a staggering 14. The Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is the only other restaurant in London to boast the impressive 3-stars. He opened the London favorite in 1998 and it has held it’s rating since 2001.
The intimate restaurant can hold 45 guests who will experience unparalleled service in an elegant, contemporary environment. The Restaurant Gordon Ramsay also features different menus including a ‘Menu Prestige’, ‘Vegetarian Menu’ and ‘Seasonal Inspiration Menu.’ Think Cotswold lamb, ravioli of lobster, langoustine and salmon and a caramelized tarte Tatin of apples. It is dangerously delicious.
