Luxury Australian ready-to-wear and swim brand, Zimmermann, opened its new flagship store on Melrose Place earlier this month, and celebrated the achievement last night with a star-studded soiree at the new boutique.
Miranda Kerr, Caroline Vreeland, Minka Kelly, January Jones and Chanel Iman joined founder sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann at the shop at 8468 Melrose Place for the evening of style and grace.
The Zimmermann sisters founded the ready-to-wear and swim brand in Sydney in 1991. Since expanding into the US market, Zimmermann won an immediate, loyal following among fashionable tastemakers. Zimmermann is one of the first brands noted for its unique fusion of fashion and swim, Zimmermann is revered for its sophisticated femininity, clever color combinations and delicate, original prints.
Zimmermann’s new 3,000 square foot space will house a large selection of the brand’s RTW offerings as well as key pieces from the swim collection. Designed by Meacham, Nockles Macqualter, the store’s aesthetic is all Zimmermann. The clean, fresh interiors act as a canvas for the clothing, portraying a slightly relaxed vibe with a seductively understated and casual approach. The vaulted ceilings and flashes of natural light provide a gorgeous canvas to highlight the clothing.
Zimmermann has been extremely selective in choosing a location for the new space, passing over several potential sites until the perfect space on Melrose became available. With neighbors such as The Row, Isabel Marant and Marni, Zimmermann’s mix of whimsical RTW and swim is a perfect addition to Melrose Place’s retail landscape.
The new flagship is a major step as the brand continues to build momentum in the US market. This will be Zimmermann’s fourth retail location in America with additional stores already open in New York City and East Hampton. The flagship will be the brand’s second store in Los Angeles, the first opening in 2011 on Robertson Boulevard.
