The World Series of Poker Main Event Kicks Off
The World Championship of Poker started today at the Rio with the first 1,000 finishers all promised to win cash prizes for the first time.
Players can enter the tournament on Monday and Tuesday at noon as well. The World Series of Poker Main Event runs through July 14 when the final table is determined.
Poker pros, celebrities and average Joes from more than 85 nations are expected to participate in the tournament this year. Last year, 6,683 players participated, and the winner, Sweden’s Martin Jacobson, collected $10 million.
