Experience the Magnificence of The Hamptons at These Culinary Hot Spots
Dine out at these delightful summer picks for a true eating experience while on your vacation in The Hamptons.
WINSTON’S BAR AND GRILL
Ambiance
Winston’s offers rustic charm with wooden interiors and repurposed wine crates throughout. It’s old-fashioned, but the chandeliers add a chic touch.
What to Eat:
Start with a selection from the raw bar including shrimp, oysters, and clams or the Citrus Caribbean Salad. Follow that with the Sautéed Crab Meat or the Fisherman’s Pot of the Day.
What to Drink:
The Coco Punch (Shelback spiced rum, Finlandia coconut, Chambord liqueur, and a splash of pineapple and orange juice) or the Mai Tai (Seven Tiki spiced Fijian rum, kraken, and cointreau with orange and lime juice).
Sweet Tooth:
The French toast (crusted with almonds and pecans and topped with an apple or banana rum sauce) or the buttermilk pancakes.
TUTTO IL GIORNO
Ambiance
Gabby Karan De Felice (daughter of Donna Karan) designed the elegant Italian restaurant with a modernized twist on the country table. Its windows create an open and airy environment while eclectic artwork line the walls.
What to Eat:
Cartoccio (baked fish in parchment paper served up in a roasted tomato vingaigrette) or the Polpo (octopus grilled to perfection with fingerling potatoes, Cipollini onions, and green olives).
What to Drink:
Nothing is more refreshing and exciting than the Spicy Cucumber Margarita (tequila, cucumber, lime juice, and jalapeño). Available at the Sag Harbor location.
Sweet Tooth:
One of their traditional Italian desserts, the Panna Cotta or the Tiramisu.
LITTLE CREEK OYSTER FARM AND MARKET
Ambiance
Little Creek is charmingly quaint in all the right places. Seating space is limited with a few tables outside, but its atmosphere is fun for the whole family.
What to Eat:
Oysters, of course! Try the “Shuck Your Self” bucket or one of their oyster flights (accompanied with tasting card). The “Marion V” chowder is a fine choice too.
What to Drink:
A white or red wine from their selection.
Sweet Tooth:
The S’mores Cup—it’s a guilt-free treat, and the perfect fix to finish this simple yet satisfying meal.
TILLIE’S
Ambiance
Clear and open, Tillie’s bistro-styled restaurant features a minimalist aesthetic with wooden booths and banquettes. The simple design offers a fun and casual dining experience.
What to Eat:
The Lobster Roll (Long Island lobster with sriracha mayo on a potato roll) is the number one pick, but the Southern Chicken Sandwich is a close second.
What to Drink:
Anything from their cocktail list; particularly, the Flamingo Mojito (Bacardi, ginger syrup, and fresh watermelon. Finished with mint.)
Sweet Tooth:
Have another cocktail.
