British brand Waterford, known for its fine quality crystal, helped die-hard Mad Men fans bid goodbye to the series finale by introducing customers to their dedicated mixology range; so everyone can discover (and keep) a little bit of Don Draper.
Those wishing to take home a piece of the show can invest in the dedicated set inspired by the series, which includes decanters, double old fashioned glasses, highball glasses, an ashtray and pitchers, all in clear crystal with gold or platinum accents. Just like the series, the pieces are big, bold, beautiful and conspicuous, made to be proudly displayed in a drinks cabinet. Waterford has also added period detailing to the collection to make it even more authentic, whilst some of the items can also be engraved for an extra personal touch. Counting down the days until the finale on social media, Waterford advised fans sad to see the series go that they could keep the drama alive with their dedicated mixology set, which looks like it belongs right in Don Draper’s living room. Meanwhile customer email alerts invited consumers to “raise a glass” and “recreate their own Mad Men moments.”
Waterford is certainly not the first luxury brand to have created a dedicated collection inspired by a hit show. Net-a-Porter, spurned on by the huge success of The Hunger Games, collaborated with costumer designer Trish Summerville on an exclusive collection based on “Catching Fire,” the latest instalment of the series. The line, called Capitol Couture, made reference to the weird and wacky fashions of the film and book’s fictional Capitol, where a lot of the action takes place.
