Miami’s Michael Mina 74 Celebrates National Burger Month

"Coast to Coast" Burger

As if Michael Mina 74’s signature Dry-Aged Steak Burgers weren’t already a fan favorite, Chef de Cuisine Thomas Griese’s latest twist is guaranteed to make them the only dish you want to eat this May. Joining restaurants across the nation to celebrate “National Burger Month,” this Fontainebleau favorite is leading the pack with weekly menus of new inventive-meets-indulgent burgers that promise to tickle your tastebuds in a way you never thought possible.

Kicking off the first week of May 2015, Chef Thomas created a “Coast to Coast” Burger that brought together the best of the East and the West: a fused a Chorizo-blended patty for Miami’s inherently Hispanic culture, California’s quintessentially fresh avocado, and crispy bacon, crunchy fried potatoes and one egg, sunny-side up. Forced to follow with an equally-impressive dish the second week — though, for Chef Thomas, that’s hardly a challenge — he threw it back to his childhood. Coming up with a Chili Mac & Cheese Burger that combines his own mother’s homemade chili, macaroni terrine and baked cheddar cheese, this one-of-a-kind burger, available through May 14th, is the answer to your palate’s prayers. From May 15th-21st, Chef Thomas’ the Spicy Ahi Burger — a combination of Ahi-tuna steak, ponzu sauce, sesame seeds, house made pickled ginger, compressed cucumbers and wasabi aioli — is a perfect prequel to the grand finale. Again drawing on Chef Thomas’ Indiana upbringing, the Indy 500, a perfectly blended patty topped with crispy onion rings, spicy sauce and dill pickles, will be on the menu from May 22nd-31st.

And as if this wasn’t enough of a party, the burgers aren’t the only items on the menu worth celebrating. Also in honor of National Burger Month, Michael Mina 74 is complementing this contemporary twist on classic American fare with $5 beer specials, Jameson and “Pickle-back” shots — officially making your May in Miami one for the culinary books.

Michael Mina 74 is located at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, at 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
