Italy’s Maramotti family, the owners of luxury brand Max Mara, hosted a decadent and spring-inspired dinner at London’s Royal Academy to celebrate their resort show, which was held in the capital.
Guests at the intimate dinner party included the likes of Amy Adams, Polly Morgan, Karen Terracciano and Alice Eve, as well as model Lily Cole and Charlotte Dellal. Flowers such as peonies, hydrangeas, roses and ferns filled the space, while earlier for the show the Max Mara models wore flower prints and giant rosettes on their sweatshirts. The runway show for the resort collection was held at the brand’s Bond Street flagship and company chairman Luigi Maramotti was thrilled about having the first glimpse of the collection in the British capital. “London after World War Two, destruction – but also flowers and gardens. It made sense to have the show here,” he explained of the way the city influenced Max Mara’s resort collection for this year. The show also coincided with the opening of the company’s expanded Old Bond Street boutique.
Meanwhile guests at the event were given flowers to take home as a memento of their evening. “Two just doesn’t seem right, so I took three,” said a delighted Charlotte Dellal, who left with a handful of giant white peonies. Amy Adams, who is currently enjoying a short stopover in London, wowed in a gorgeous nude dress and admitted that she has been enjoying the capital with her family like a true tourist: “ [We have been] taking in the sights – being an old-fashioned tourist. We’ve already been to the National Gallery and the Museum of Natural History,” she admitted.
