With all of the rain around town lately, North Texans are beginning to experience the equivalent of cabin fever. May is generally warm and sunny, with plenty of time at the lake on the weekends but this spring? Not so much. If you’re feeling as dreary as the weather outside your office window take heart! There are plenty of things to do this week in DFW.

The weekend begins big with Off to the FARM on May 16, an event featuring local chefs creating plates from locally sourced foods, grown on FARM property, paired with cocktails to complement them. There will also be a variety of activities, games, music, and a live auction — all supporting low-income children served by Project Transformation. FARM (Farmers Assisting Returning Military) seeks to offer opportunities to veterans at risk and provide meaningful dirt therapy as well as providing education and help to low-income families in the community. 100% of ticket proceeds from “Off to the FARM!” will go to support Summer 2015 programs at ten site locations throughout North Texas. Put on your best boots — attire is country chic.
