AerialMiamiHD copyFor the first time ever, the Longines Global Champions Tour, has come to the USA, the sands of Miami Beach to be exact. Known for taking place in some of the world’s most stunning and distinguished destinations, the Tour offers the richest prize money in show jumping. The Championship series has grown over the past decade from six events to 15 events with debut shows at destinations such as Miami Beach and Rome and a new venue for London. This year’s combined prize fund is over €10million (US$11.23million)

The jumping global circuit championship kicked off yesterday just a few inches from the ocean at the Setai. The Top 30 ranked show jumpers in the word will be battling it out over these next three days for almost $1MM in prizes across five 5 classes, including the world-renowned Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix and the prestigious American Invitational.

Kent Farrington, Athina Onassis de Miranda, and Georgina Bloomberg are just a few of the star jumpers that will be competing. Kent Farrington, USA No1 Show jumper had stated, “This is great exposure for the sport of show jumping. The Global Champions Tour has been a huge boost to the sport worldwide and having a leg of it in Miami Beach, when so many of us are in Florida already, is a great fit and exciting for everyone involved.”
