Anna Kendrick And Lily Tomlin Team Up For Kate Spade
Kate Spade launched the second in the series of #Missadventure YouTube videos featuring Anna Kendrick.
For Anna’s latest misadventure, she becomes an unwilling meditation instructor at the Sunset Tower Hotel while Lily Tomlin plays it straight. Anna pulls out all kinds of whimsical Kate Spade accessories as she fakes her way through the meditation practice.
“The Great Escape” as it is titled, shows Ms. Kendrick’s character arriving at the hotel, but is mistakenly whisked away and directed poolside to Lily Tomlin. who assumes she is her personal meditation instructor. A befuddled Kendrick jumps right in and pretends to be the instructor in a scene that is reminiscent of something Lucile Ball would do.
The first installment video was released during the holiday 2014 season and also featured Kendrick, who then was locked out of her brownstone apartment in New York.
The series is an example of the latest marketing strategy where brands are opting for new outlets to get their messaging across. YouTube videos captures a younger audience while allowing a more flushed out vision of products, whom to target and brand ethos all in a video format. The brand gets much more than one photograph with traditional advertising.
