Miami: ‘Duo at Devon’ Debuts a Five-Course Collaborative Menu for a Cause
Taking place during sunset, on Devon Seafood + Steak’s beautiful waterfront patio, last week’s “Duo at Devon” event celebrated the one-night-only collaboration of Chef Tod Chitikov and Chef Eileen Andrade, of Devon Seafood + Steak and FINKA Table & Tap, respectively. Creating a delicious five-course dinner for a cause, preceded by a Blackberry Lemonade aperitif and Smoked Bourbon Brisket Empanada canapé, the proceeds of the event benefitted the Baptist Health Foundation, whose philanthropic support has helped to build new hospitals throughout Miami.
Pairing each course with perfect wines donated by Domaine Souviou, the two chefs created a menu of hearty, altruistic dishes that left guests both incredibly full and craving more. Kicking it of with FINKA’s zesty Dehydrated Kimchee Crusted Scallops with tamal en cazuela risotto and malanga crisps, followed by Devon’s flavorfully combined Chorizo and Lobster Tamale, stop refried beans and an avocado cream. The tangy and interesting Rabbit Paella with roasted aji amarillo and crispy garbanzo beans was a perfect introduction to the buttery Korean BBQ Rubbed Cowgirl Steak with roasted garlic purée, bone marrow and plantain demi glaze. The crème de la crème, Toasted Guava Bread Pudding with cheesecake ice cream and salted caramel rum, was an idyllic ending to an already exquisite evening of culinary delights.
Located in Kendall, both Devon Seafood + Steak and FINKA Table & Tap have risen to the top of the Miami food scene. Bringing “foodies” and patrons alike inventive menus of fused cuisine, Chefs Tod Chitikov and Eileen Andrade are turning this residential Miami neighborhood into a trendy, dare we say haute, new place to be.
