Tickets on Sale: Fortnum and Mason Invites Customers To The Crypt For One Night Only
Luxury British department store Fortnum and Mason is inviting customers into its Crypt space for an exclusive, one-night only opportunity of champagne tasting on April 15.
Giving ticket holders the chance to sample award-winning beverages, the retailer will be hosting a Charles Heidsieck Champagne masterclass. The hour-long event, being held twice throughout the evening, will give access to the elegant and enigmatic Crypt space, which has often been described as the retailer’s “hidden treasure.” The intimate setting, which only allows for a maximum of 16 guests, is the perfect place to sample some of the finest bubblies in the world, by the man who would later make his name as ‘Champagne Charlie.’ Founded in 1851, the Charles Heidsieck champagne house built its reputation through its investment in Roman chalk cellars, as opposed to the purchase of vineyards. These cellars proved ideal for the ageing process of champagne, and today the brand is synonymous with quality and refined taste—it has also won a whole accolade of awards including Sparkling Winemaker of the Year at the IWC.
For £45, or $66, guests will be able to sample bubblies such as Charles Heidsieck’s award-winning Brut Réserve, the Rosé Réserve (winner of the IWC Trophy for NV Rosé Champagne 2014), Rosé Millésime 1999 (winner of the IWC & IWSC Trophy 2014), Blanc des Millénaires 1995 (winner of the DWWA Trophy) and the Brut Millésime 2005, which is a new release.
