Aspen Weekend in Review: Snow, Sunshine and Après-Ski

Libations were flowing, and locals and visitors alike were out on the slopes to soak in the sunshine and ski fresh snow. Here’s what you missed this weekend in Aspen.

Skiing: In less than two weeks, Aspen’s mountains received close to 6 feet of fresh snow through March 4. But skies were clear and sunny over the weekend, adding up to some perfect spring skiing.

Food & Drink: The Apres-Ski Cocktail Classic was in town, bringing sales reps, mixologists and connoseurs together to celebrate the pastime of après-ski, culminating in an epic pub crawl through downtown Aspen on Sunday.

News: The Aspen Skiing Co. has joined a group of 379 organizations signing a brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of same-sex marriage.

CBS newsmagazine show “48 Hours” dug into the grisly details of the murder of Aspen native and socialite Nancy Pfister, killed in her home in February 2014.
