Malone Souliers Partners With David Koma

London-based footwear brand Malone Souliers which, despite their recent launch, has been causing waves due to their quirky, super-luxe style, is set to be launched into the global fashion space.

Headed by creative director Mary Alice Malone, the brand is partnering with designer of the moment David Koma on a capsule footwear collection that is to be shown on the runways of London Fashion Week next month, during Koma’s eponymous show on 22 February. “This is what we would define as our coming out party,” said Malone Souliers’s managing director Roy Luwolt. “Being in our third season allows us to graduate from a focus on logistics and product to brand positioning and its very sustenance. David Koma’s brand and ours have a singular vision of longevity over quickness, aiming to define and clarify as meticulously as possible the tactile values of luxury to which our customer has come to know. Every detail of the shoe is obsessive to us.”

The collection, called Malone Souliers X David Koma, will bring together the labels’ two very different design aesthetics, with initial sketches for the shoes revealing a high-heeled, slightly platform shape and hinting at materials such as wool and suede for this debut collaboration. As well as being shown in London, the partnership of the two brands will be sold within Malone Souliers’ Fall 2015 Collection. And with future plans for the footwear label including a fine-art collection, a department store pop-up boutique and a (as yet unnamed) artist endorsement at the upcoming Grammys, this is certainly set to be a big year for Malone Souliers.
